Hello. My name is Fern.

This is my personal blog. Writeups, blog posts, reports. I haven’t decided what to call them yet. Mostly it’s where I talk security. Think of it as a case file that keeps growing.

Some background. I grew up on Windows XP and unrestricted internet access, which, in hindsight, explains a lot. I was always amazed by the technology. Somewhere between 2009 and 2013, that amazement turned into something more specific, and I fell in love with cybersecurity. Nobody warned me.

I went to college for cyber defense and infrastructure, and now I’m finishing my master’s in cybersecurity. The answers are usually in the logs. You just have to be willing to read them.

I can be somewhat of an introvert. I enjoy being alone with my thoughts, which I’m told is either a gift or a warning sign.

Outside of all this, I have other hobbies. Bodybuilding and training, and video games. Fallout, naturally. World of Warcraft too, and lately it’s been the newest release, World of Warcraft Forever, where I’m playing an undead paladin. On retail, you guessed it, another paladin, this time a blood elf. I’m aware there’s a pattern.
